Director Message |
 |
Friends,
Welcome to 4th Jaipur International Film Festival 2012.
Jaipur has a long and vibrant history of arts and culture. The “Pink city” is a place where heritage looks forward to future. Through JIFF, we are trying to bridge that two worlds. It is our vision to develop and enhance a progressive film culture in the state. We dream of bringing film community of the globe together at this time of violence, conflicts and wars and address those issues using the mesmerizing art of Cinema. In its unique style it is capable of conveying a million ideas to every age, sex, colour or creed, through its universal language which we all understand so well. Cinema is the bond that binds us all, providing us with knowledge and enlightenment as it entertains us artfully with its magic.
This year we have received 875 films from 70 countries, out of which around 125 films will be screened during the festival. 5 continents of the world are represented in this festival. While selecting these films we have given equal importance to the content and the aesthetic quality.
Last but not the least; let me convey my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the Jury members, Advisory Board members, Oranising Committee members, colleagues, media persons and all others of their guidance and meaningful involvements towards making JIFF-2011 a success. I should also convey my gratefulness to the respected sponsors and business houses for extending their generous and timely support to us.
Best regards,
Hanu Roj
(Festival Director)

Advisory Board Message |
 |
Participating in a film festival as a spectator, Filmmaker, Expert or a member of advisory board is always a joy but organizing an event of this magnitude is sheer ecstasy. The workload of coordinating an event like a film festival puts you in trance which you enjoy even after the crescendo is over.
The yearly event JIFF has grown big. The change has been in terms of size and proportion with overwhelming participating of the film makers from various countries. The national festival of films indeed became International.
We, on behalf of the Advisory committee of JIFF welcome the foreign delegates across the globe. Their presence has added prestige to the Festival. We must also express my gratitude to all the Indian delegates who have come from far off places of JIFF.
