The concept of Film Market named 'The Merchant' was introduced in JIFF- 2011. It is a very important component of the festival. We plan to take The Merchant to a much higher level in JIFF-2012.

The very special feature of JIFF-2012 is the launch of co-production concept. Under this concept the co-production of India with other 8 selective nations (including Canada, UK, USA, France, Spain, Australia and Brazil etc.) will be started from this year onwards.

1. 1. Apart from films, next year at the festival, the visitors will get to see several filmy paraphernalia, like the shoes worn by Raj Kapoor in the song ‘Mera joota ha Japani’, manuscripts written by Satyajit Ray and the costume worn by Aamir Khan in ‘Mangal Pandey’! And much more.….

2. National Recognition in Exhibition I would like to share my pleasure with you about a big achievement of JIFF. In the first two editions of JIFF, the films awarded in JIFF, in Best Short film category and Best Cinematography category were also awarded at the National Film Awards. It is a matter of great pride for JIFF that 3 feature films screened/awarded in JIFF 2011 have also been selected for the National Film Awards, announced on 19th of May, 2011. This has surely enhanced the credibility of Jaipur International Film Festival and has increased the inclination of both budding and veteran filmmakers from all around the world towards this annual event. All these films will be publicized in JIFF through the medium of film posters.

IFFA is the latest concept in which we plan to bring together maximum number of film festivals from around the globe. Initially, 10 film festivals from around the continent of Asia would be included in this framework. This concept would be launched in JIFF- 2012. Through this association we will bring out the BEST film from all around the Globe.

U Turn Rajasthan panorama is a new concept in JIFF-2012, in which a Jury committee comprising of eminent personalities from the film fraternity will select the films to be screened in JIFF-2012. The selection for the best film would be done by a jury of around 20 people comprising of filmmakers/ directors/ film critics/ distributer/ producers etc

From this year onwards, special tribute session also begins as a unique jewel in the crown of JIFF.

In the JIFF-2012, there will be around 8 cross promotional partners including INKTIP, Visera film festival, etc.

Special screening arrangements will be made in the JIFF-2012. There will be special film screenings for the jury and the guests respectively. The screening will be separate for the representatives from media, and there will be also a general screening for all the filmmakers and film lovers.

In 4th Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) – 2012, it has been decided to bring all the various regional film industries of India onto a single platform. Our aim is to reveal the past, present and future of Indian regional cinema through a unique ‘VIKAS YATRA’ of Indian regional cinema. So that filmmakers from around the world get all the information at one place.

JIFF-2012 is currently earning a sublime publicity on the international platforms in different parts of world. Recently, JIFF received a great exposure in the Cannes Film Festival held in France from 11th May to 21st May, 2011. At Cannes, prominent filmmakers from different parts of the world accumulated relevant information on JIFF and are currently sending their films as official entry for JIFF-2012.

It is our objective to develop an interesting and creative aspect of Jaipur city by introducing the concept of Cinema Hub in the City.

During the five days of the festival all visitors will get an opportunity to witness art, culture and life of India and other countries.

This year too, JIFF will be organizing the award function on the Red Carpet. Cultural programs & academic sessions would be organized during the award ceremony & award winning films would be screened. RED CARPET award ceremony would be telecasted live on major TV channels.
